FAST FORWARD has won two of his last three starts on the Flat and was second in the other. Alan King’s juvenile hurdlers here always warrant a second look and the son of Recorder is no exception. Bukela was still travelling when falling two out at Hexham and Mucuna beat a small field at Aintree on her hurdling debut but is now penalised. Ha Long Bay has won twice on the level this year but stamina might be an issue.
Shipton Moyne66-1 (9-1) Led briefly, chased leaders until dropped to mid-division 8f out, rallied chasing leaders again 3f out, weakened over 2f out, 8th of 12, 12 1/2l behind Fast Forward (9-0) at Windsor 1m 3f hcp (6) gf in May.
Mucuna (GER)4-1 (10-7) Held up in last, went 3rd before 6th, went 2nd 2 out, switched left and challenged last, soon led, stayed on well, won at Aintree 2m (3) gd in Jun beating All In Peder (11-0) by 2 3/4l, 4 ran.
Fast Forward (FR)3-1 (9-9) Bit keen, soon tracking leaders, went 2nd 8f out, challenged going well 3f out, led 2f out, ridden over 1f out, stayed on gamely, won at Yarmouth 1m 3f hcp (6) gs in Jun beating Another Odyssey (9-2) by nk, 9 ran.
Ha Long Bay (IRE)8-1 (9-1) Held up in rear, headway on outside when not much room just over 1f out, not able to trouble leaders, 5th of 6, 5l behind Achnamara (9-8) at Beverley 1m 4f hcp (4) gf in May.
Bukela7-2 (10-12) Held up towards rear, headway 3 out, close up in 2nd when fell 2 out, at Hexham 2m (4) gd in Jun.
