Verdict

Bashkirova went through the ranks for her hat-trick before stepping up to 1m2f and Listed company at Doncaster and failing to stay. ZANBAQ has a superb pedigree which is why she cost £450,000 as a yearling. A Coronation Stakes entry she'll need to step up on her victory over a subsequent winner at Kempton but looks likely to do so and can beat her older rivals. Primo Bacio is the yardstick as she won a Listed contest at York in May before an excellent run in the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket. She disappointed in subsequent starts but a return to form would see her difficult to beat. Mrs Fitzherbert completed a double in all-weather handicaps before a fair run in Listed company at Lingfield while Almohandesah regularly outran big odds last season and reappeared with a cracking effort in the Nell Gwyn.
